Since 2018, the Moana Taka Partnership has steadily increased the volume of eligible waste safely removed from Pacific Island Countries and Territories (PICTs). This data page brings together key figures, presenting a clear picture of how waste movements have scaled over time and how participation across the Pacific has evolved.
The programme has enabled the shipment of waste from PICTs. The charts on this page show year-on-year shipment volumes and the composition of waste streams. Plastics represent the largest share of material shipped, followed by paper and cardboard, scrap metal, used oil, e-waste, and other recyclable materials. Together, these visuals provide insight into both the scale and material profile of waste movements across the Pacific.
This data offers a transparent, factual record of progress to date, supporting reporting, regional understanding, and informed discussion around waste removal outcomes across the Pacific.
