LSB II (Listeria Special Broth II)
Listeria Special Broth II is used for the enrichment of Listeria monocytogenes and other Listeria spp. in food products and enviromental samples when using Real-Time PCR Detection Kits.
Description
Principle
The peptone mixture, yeast extract, and nutritive mixture provide nutritional elements necessary for
the growth of Listeria. The presence of an adequate buffer ensures control of pH and
optimizes recovery of injured organisms. The selective mixture inhibits competing microorganisms.

| Buffer | 22.2 g |
| Ferric citrate (Fe III) | 0.5 g |
| Nutritive mixture | 3 g |
| Distilled water | 1,000 ml |
| Final pH at 25 ⁰C = 7.2 ± 0.2 |
Reconstitution Ratio
53.7 g/L (500 g of powder makes 9.3 L of medium)
Storage
Store dehydrated medium at 15-25 ⁰C in carefully sealed bottles in a dry and dark place
